31st July 2019 – 3 grants approved:

£18,507 towards the costs of renovating an education room in Gloucestershire.

£8,600 towards a Kverneland fertiliser spreader for an arable farm in Gloucestershire.

27th February 2019 – 4 grants approved:

£49,125 towards a barn conversion to create high quality tourist accommodation in Gloucestershire.

£37,304 towards a farm diversification project to set up an on-farm events business in Gloucestershire.

£48,000 towards a Harvadig timber harvester for a forestry contracting business in Gloucestershire.

£99,918 towards a large scale printing equipment for a business in Gloucestershire.

15th October 2018 – team update:

1st October 2018 Cotswolds LEADER Programme reaches the £1 million mark! 

This investment has supported 32 projects, which has created 45.57 new jobs in our area.


28th September 2018 – 1 grant approved:

£38,440 towards a log drying kiln and tipper delivery truck for a business in Gloucestershire.


12th September 2018 – 2 grants approved:

£37,720 towards a Horsch Sprinter 6ST seed/ fertiliser Drill with Dutch coulters for an arable farm in Gloucestershire.

£31,385 towards a Weaving GD Drill and Teejet Unipilot Pro-steering system for an arable farm in Gloucestershire.


22nd  August 2018 – Full Application Training session – 2-4pm at the Cotswolds Discovery Centre, Fosse Way, Northleach, Gloucestershire, GL54 3JH. At the session we will be going through the Full Application forms and Guidance document. We will explain the programme requirements in more detail, covering outputs and supporting documentation. This will be an informal session designed to help applicants strengthen their application.


25th July 2018 – 2 grants approved:

£99,995 towards the conversion of an old agricultural building to create new office space for an expanding business in Wiltshire.

£5,098 towards a Mobile Sheep Handling system for a sheep farm in Gloucestershire.

£48,642 towards storage for woodchip and a Firewood processer for a forestry contractor and wood-fuel business in Oxfordshire.

£38,112 towards Forestry equipment and a Firewood processor for an Estate in Gloucestershire.

£29,757 towards a Direct Drill for an arable farm in Oxfordshire.


14th June 2018 Countryside Productivity Small Grants scheme 

Defra have announced they will be opening a second round of funding, due to open in the Autumn, giving farmers who withdrew their applications from the CPS scheme, the option to have it reinstated now or in the next round. The Rural Payments Agency will be contacting grant recipients who have an offer for livestock handling equipment but have withdrawn because of issues with livestock handling equipment, to inform them of this option.  For more information visit the Countryside Productivity Scheme website.

£16,074.81 grant approved towards a cobb and bale Roundhouse and associated facilities for a tourism provider in Wiltshire.

6th  December 2017 – Recruitment of an Executive Group Member for the Cotswolds LEADER Local Action Group.  A superb opportunity to contribute to the operation of the Cotswolds LEADER programme.

We are seeking an individual with a range of experience across the LEADER themes to join a small Executive Group of 12 members. We are particularly keen to secure input from the private sector across one or more of the following skills sets; finance and business planning, rural services, private sector forestry, rural tourism and micro enterprise and farm diversification.  You will help to promote the programme and determine grant applications, working closely with the two person programme team.  This is a voluntary and unpaid position.  Deadline for Applications 5th Januray 2018.

4th October 2017 – Vegetable Matters wins award!

Cotswolds LEADER grant recipient Vegetable Matters wins Campaign to Protect Rural England county awards:

Vegetable Matters was credited for sustainable building design and community benefits.


13th September 2017 – 2 grants approved:

£49.992.55 grant approved towards the conversion of derelict agricultural buildings into 5 residential holiday units in Gloucestershire.

£20,450 grant approved towards a Cluster Flush & EID Rumination Collars for a dairy farm in Gloucestershire.


August 2017 – Our upper grant limit has been increased to £100,000!!

For exceptional projects with high job outputs, grants from £50,000 to £100,000 will be considered. This higher amount is only available under Priority 2 “Support for micro & small Businesses and farm diversification”. The maximum grant rate is capped at 40% of the eligible project costs.
