A walk with views over the Evenlode Valley to Shorthampton Church with its fine wall paintings. Onwards to Spelsbury Church with memorials to the Lee family. Return via Coldron Mill and Dean Grove to Charlbury with a 12th Century church.

The Evenlode is a very wide scenic valley offering good views on most days. The small church at Shorthampton has some remarkable surviving medieval wall paintings. All Saints Church at Spelsbury has several monuments to the Lee family as well of the Duke of Rochester who made the quote of Charles ll "He never said a foolish things nor ever did a wise one". Coldron Mill has a recently restored water wheel supplying power to the house. St Mary's Church in Charlbury dates in part from the 12th Century and has a notable Jacobean staircase.
