Follow the footsteps of William Smith, the father of English Geology, through Monkton Combe, Midford and Combe Down. Steep and possibly muddy. Not suitable for pushchairs. Refreshments and lunch available at Combe Grove Hotel after the walk.

Warden leaders will take all reasonable care and precautions but each walker is ultimately responsible for their own safety and for determining their capability to complete the chosen walk.

This walk is organised by Cotswold Voluntary Wardens, the voluntary arm of the Cotswolds Conservation Board. These walks offer an interesting and often entertaining way of exploring our wonderful Cotswold countryside and landscape. All walks by the Voluntary Wardens are FREE OF CHARGE however donations are welcome and help us to take care of the countryside.

PLEASE: always remember to wear appropriate footwear because some walks may be steep and muddy in places. Dogs are not allowed on walks, except guide dogs and hearing dogs. It is advisable to check the website or call the Cotswolds Conservation Board (07841 663607) beforehand for details of any changes, particularly during bad weather.
