A Sally in the Woods featuring John Rennie.

Back to Guided Walks page

We start with ridge walking through Browne's Folly SSSI, then across to Winsley and down into the Avon valley at Freshford, returning via the canal and river to "Sally in the Woods". Optional pub/cafe stop available at Winsley and Dundas. Please bring a packed lunch.

This walk takes in some of the beauty of the Avon valley South East of Bath & its surrounding woods and lanes with views over Bath and outlying villages. It focuses on some of the environmental, historical and industrial heritage of the area. The last section of the walk involves a steepish uphill walk from the Avon river through Warleigh to Browne's Folly Nature reserve and the start.
