A Roman Villa and a River Valley

Back to Guided Walks page

From Stonesfield we walk to the North Leigh Roman Villa where we will stop to explore the villa site and visit the Mosaic Room, open on this date. Our return incudes a gentle meander along the River Evenlode and across the river valley. Please bring light refreshments for our villa stop.

This walk is classed as moderate because of the one quite steep ascent on the return to Stonesfield.

This walk is organised by Cotswold Voluntary Wardens, the voluntary arm of the Cotswolds Conservation Board. These walks offer an interesting and often entertaining way of exploring our wonderful Cotswold countryside and landscape. All walks by the Voluntary Wardens are FREE OF CHARGE however donations are welcome and help us to take care of the countryside.

PLEASE: always remember to wear appropriate footwear because some walks may be steep and muddy in places. Dogs are not allowed on walks, except guide dogs and hearing dogs. It is advisable to check the website or call the Cotswolds Conservation Board (07841 663607) beforehand for details of any changes, particularly during bad weather.
