Land Management & Advice

The landscape of the Cotswolds has been influenced by centuries of agriculture and land management by the farming community. Around 86% of land in the Cotswolds is farmland with mixed and arable farms, and 10% of the land is woodland. The Cotswolds contain less than 3000ha of wildflower grassland, about 1.5% of the total area.

The Conservation Board can provide help and advice to farmers, landowners and communities to help them understand their role in looking after the AONB and its special qualities for future generations. Information on wildflower grasslands, keeping horses, deer management  is readily available.
