This is a great opportunity to be part of a team working to conserve and enhance the natural beauty and increase the understanding and enjoyment of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Board is seeking an experienced and self-reliant person to be the Board’s responsible finance officer, to provide financial and accounting services, secretarial support to sub-committees and to manage the day to day running of the Board’s offices. In short, the successful candidate must be able to provide the full range of financial and administrative support to a small but vibrant organisation.
We are looking for a fully or partly qualified CIPFA/ACCA/CIMA accountant or a holder of AAT membership who is able to advise on risk management and provide corporate governance advice, produce annual accounts and returns in accordance with National Association of Local Council guidance and to provide hands-on financial management of all the activities of the Board.
You will have responsibility for maintaining and improving accounting systems (particularly Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll), key reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and production of financial information to support the work of the Board. You will also have a working knowledge of payroll, corporation tax and VAT accounting.
You will take responsibility for administration of agenda papers to the Board, its committees and sub-committees and will act as committee clerk to the sub-committees.

Student placement opportunity
The Cotswolds Conservation Board wishes to recruit an intern to work for a minimum of six months. Based at our office in Northleach, Gloucestershire. Our internships offer the opportunity to gain experience across a broad spectrum of landscape conservation work whilst focusing on a core project. Candidates are welcome to suggest their own projects. Existing projects offered include; website development, green infrastructure & natural services; health & wellbeing and landscape.
