The North Cotswolds Hedgelaying Competiton
Every year the Cotswolds Conservation Board runs the North Cotswolds Hedgelaying Competition with the support of the National Hedgelaying Society.
The last competition took place on Saturday 21st November 2009 at Foss Cross on the A429 between Northleach and Cirencester.
The winners were: Open: Alan Ashby from Kent; Junior and Beginners: Guy Robins from Oxfordshire; Veteran: Clive Matthew from Leicestershire; Beginners Pairs: Paul Vincent & Stephen Turner from Bristol.
The following awards were also made: Best Lady Hedgelayer: Emily Ledder from West Yorkshire; Best Regrowth Open: Alan Ashby from Kent; Best Regrowth Junior & Beginners: Hefin Davies from Gloucestershire; Best Regrowth Veteran: Guy Lock from Warwickshire; Best Regrowth Beginners Pairs: Dave Lee & Richard Lane from Oxfordshire; Best Regrowth Overall: Alan Ashby from Kent.
The competition is free to enter and has the following classes:
- Open
- Junior, Beginners & Novice ( all same class)
- Veterans
- Beginners pairs
Winners in each class receive prize money and a trophy and 2nd-3rd places receive prize money.
