Who Conserves?
Today, a range of people from farmers to drystone wallers use their rural skills to care for the countryside. Their work helps to conserve the distinct character of the Cotswolds.
The landscape of the AONB depends on the economic activities of farming, tourism and quarrying. However, fewer than 5% of people living in the AONB work in these areas.
The Cotswolds Conservation Board works directly with a range of people and organisations who help to conserve the AONB:
- Farmers
- Volunteers
- Drystone wallers
- Hedgelayers
- Green Tourism providers
- Partner organisations
- Communities
