The Cotswolds Conservation Board is saddened to learn of the death of Board Member Sheila Gunn.

Sheila joined the Board in April this year as a Secretary of State appointee and brought with her a wealth of experience in PR and communications.  Sheila was a journalist for more than 20 years and the personal press spokesman for John Major in his last two years as Prime Minister,  After ten years in public relations, both in consultancies and in-house, she becase a Visiting Lecturer at various US and UK universities and worked as a freelance media and political consultant for many charities and NGOs.

She had not had the time to fully utilise her skills and enthusiasm for the benefit of the Board, but had contributed her knowledge and expertise to Board and Executive Committee meetings and supported events such as the launch of the Cotswolds dry stone walling academy. Sheila also helped to raise awareness of the Board and its activities through her work in local radio.

She will be missed by her fellow Board Members and staff colleagues and our thoughts go out to her friends and family at this sad time.
